Lamenting, as a way to explore biodiversity loss and climate grief.
This is a 2 part production.
An event based production in Cloughoughter Castle in Sept presented by Alan James Burn.
&
1 day workshop on the artform of Lament in October
Part 1 – From Friday 8th September to Saturday 9th September – audiences will embark upon a once-in-a-lifetime boat trip or take a short walk to the lake shore viewing area. Immersed within this breathtaking location, they will witness the castle personifying collective trauma connected to the climate catastrophe and ecological degradation. Cloughoughter Castle channels this grief and cries out in a call to arms for us to fight to protect ourselves against our inaction, embrace necessary change and live in harmony with the land once again. There are also two day light performances with buses leaving Townhall Cavan at 4pm each day.

Invitations to Wonder
An Introduction to Caoineadh -1 Day Workshop
This is an Experiential Group
We would like to invite a small group to Wonder on the artform of Keening/Lament/Caoineadh. We will hold a one day experiential workshop (Sat 14th of Oct 2023) on the power of expressing loss to recalibrate the body. Potential participants are encouraged to consider their willingness to be witnessed by an intimate group (10 including the facilitator) in using their voice to express grief. The intention will be to break through any resistance to expression in the company of a supportive circle.
If you feel drawn to be considered please read the following-
Do you feel you would like a safe container to express your sadness relating to any of the following themes of loss?

❖ Loss of a friend or a beloved partner, family member
❖ Loss of ritual & rites of passage (feeling the void of community)
❖ Loss of flow (creativity, vitality)
❖ Loss of culture (belonging, tradition)
❖ Biodiversity Loss
